A legal agreement you sign to participate in BMSA soccer.
By signing, you accept risks and limit your ability to hold the organization legally responsible.
The association and everyone involved (coaches, staff, volunteers, etc.) are not responsible for injuries, damage, or loss.
This applies even if negligence is involved.
You confirm you understand soccer involves risks, including:
Physical injuries from running, contact, and intense activity
Falls on grass/turf or uneven surfaces
Equipment misuse or failure
Collisions with players, objects, or spectators
Weather-related issues (e.g., heatstroke)
Muscle strain or overexertion
Travel-related risks to and from events
Possible infections from surfaces
By signing, you agree:
You accept all risks of participating
You are personally responsible for any injury or loss
You cannot sue the organization for injuries or damages, even if caused by their negligence
You confirm:
You read and understood the agreement
You are signing voluntarily
You understand you are giving up legal rights, including the right to sue
Despite the heading saying it's for participants 18+, the form includes a parent/guardian signature section, meaning it may also apply to minors through their parent/guardian.
This waiver shifts most legal responsibility onto you (or the parent/guardian).
It’s standard for sports, but it is legally significant—you’re agreeing to accept the risks and limit legal claims.
